Position Overview

An Automation Engineer is integral to the software development process, leading the development and maintenance of sophisticated automated test scripts to ensure application quality. They design and optimize test automation frameworks, leveraging their extensive expertise to enhance testing efficiency. This role involves strategic collaboration with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to integrate automated tests seamlessly into the development lifecycle. They play a crucial role in refining the continuous integration and deployment pipeline, ensuring consistent execution of automated tests for software stability. Additionally, Automation Engineers guide and mentor junior testers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. They also drive innovation by evaluating and implementing new testing tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in refining our test automation strategy
• Contribute to the creation and enhancement of our C# and Selenium-based Test Framework
• Provide support to Automation Testers in developing Test Scripts
• Manage ADO-based CI/CD pipelines
• Explore new solutions to enhance QA Automation, including investigating AI applications and new frameworks

Qualifications

A great candidate will have:

• Extensive experience with following programming language: C# 
• Extensive experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Xpath.
• Extensive experience with xUnit, TestNG, or any other framework for tests management.
• Extensive experience with with Azure ADO as CI/CD tool.
• Experience with SQL and Relational DBs.
• An advantage would be experience in using Azure and Azure Dev Ops.
• ISEB or ITSQB testing qualifications in testing.
• Experience with Behavior Driven Development.

Transversal Skills:

• Excellent in Communication Skills: Essential for effectively collaborating with team members and stakeholders, and for clearly conveying information and ideas.
• Excellent Problem-Solving: Crucial for identifying issues, analyzing them, and developing effective solutions to enhance testing processes.
• Believer in Curiosity and Willingness to Learn: An eagerness to continually learn and improve skills, especially in a rapidly changing field like automation testing

Location Preferences:

Our headquarters is located in Casalecchio di Reno, Bologna, and we offer hybrid work arrangements. While we prioritize candidates who are based in Bologna and the surrounding areas for hybrid work, we are open to considering other options on a case-by-case basis.
