Position Overview
XTEL seeks a QA Test Lead to manage QA processes within a Scrum team, ensuring high-quality software solutions. Key responsibilities include bug management, test coverage review, mentoring testers, and hands-on testing. Candidates should have over two years of Test Lead experience, strong manual testing skills, and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Our QA Test Lead will be responsible for:
- QA process across the Scrum team;
- Daily high-level reporting on test progress during releases in accordance with the plan;
- Timely escalation of High/Critical issues to ensure resolution within planned timelines;
- Bug management;
- Reviewing the test coverage of Test Cases and User Stories;
- Enforcing quality gates based on the QA and Release strategies;
- Mentoring and assessing testers; assuring all testers are trained and up to date with product modules;
- Hands-on involvement in testing when needed;
- Being familiarized with product modules in order to ensure effective review of testing coverage;
- Test planning for releases, including manual, automation, and non-functional testing;
- Providing input to the release sign-off process.
Qualifications
- More than 2 years of Test Lead experience
- Excellent Written and Spoken English level (please submit your CV in English, all the interviews will be held in English).
- People management and mentoring experience
- Extensive Test analyst experience in all test phases
- Strong manual test experience across the full lifecycle – Functional Testing (User Stories), Integration Testing and UAT (end to end);
- Understanding of Test automation and when it should be implemented;
- Bug management experience and maintaining the quality of data within the bug management tool;
- Experience of working in Scrum teams and a very good understanding of Agile methodology;
- Understanding of industry best practices from a Test perspective – ISTQB/TMMI etc.;
- Experience in different sectors and environments would be an advantage;
- Experience of working with remote teams;
- Highly analytical individual with a focus on detail.

Location Preferences:
Our headquarters is located in Casalecchio di Reno, Bologna, and we offer hybrid work arrangements. While we prioritize candidates who are based in Bologna and the surrounding areas for hybrid work, we are open to considering remote options on a case-by-case basis.
