Position Overview:
As a Solutions Engineer, you will play a critical role in partnering with the sales team to secure enterprise deals for XTEL’s best-in-class Trade Promotions Management (TPM), Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO), and Revenue Growth Management (RGM) analytics platform. Trusted by the world’s leading consumer goods companies, our platform empowers clients to unlock profitable growth and optimize trade investments.
This role sits at the intersection of technology, strategy, and sales. You will own the technical pre-sales process, working closely with sales representatives to strategize and win complex enterprise deals. You’ll engage in discovery sessions, solution design, and pre-sales workshops, while delivering compelling demonstrations and articulating the strategic vision and value of XTEL’s solutions to executive audiences.
You will also ensure a seamless transition to the delivery team after deals are closed, contributing in the background to guarantee successful implementations and rapid time-to-value for new customers. Success in this role requires a combination of technical expertise, sales acumen, and a consultative approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sell as a Trusted Advisor: Develop deep expertise in customer use cases, XTEL’s SaaS solutions, and the value we deliver to clients. Build trust with prospects throughout the sales cycle.
- Support Enterprise Sales Efforts: Partner with sales representatives to qualify opportunities, sell consultatively, and align customer business needs with XTEL’s product capabilities to secure 6- and 7-figure enterprise deals.
- Articulate Vision and Value: Deliver tailored presentations, demonstrations, and proposals that align with customer goals and differentiate XTEL in competitive sales situations.
- Respond to RFPs/RFIs: Collaborate with the sales team to develop tailored responses and align on pre-qualification strategies.
- Lead Proof of Value (POV) Engagements: Scope, execute, and deliver impactful POVs that demonstrate XTEL’s value, win customer confidence, and move deals forward.
- Remove Technical Barriers: Address and resolve technical challenges during the sales process, including data integration, API connections, reporting, and analytics.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Professional Services for scoping, delivery teams for implementation, and Product Management to provide feedback on features and strategy.
- Represent XTEL at Industry Events: Support trade shows, conferences, and other events to showcase XTEL’s solutions and build market presence.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to strengthen the pre-sales process and the overall effectiveness of the team.
Requirements:
- Sales Expertise: Demonstrated success in supporting and influencing the closure of SaaS deals, ideally within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector.
- Technical Acumen: Strong background in enterprise architecture, data management, and analytics. Experience with large-scale data sets, relational modeling, and tools like Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Data Lakes is highly desirable.
- Pre-Sales Excellence: Skilled at engaging stakeholders across all levels, including C-suite executives, and delivering tailored, high-impact presentations, workshops, and demos.
- Consultative Selling Skills: Ability to uncover customer needs, align them with XTEL’s solutions, and position yourself as a trusted advisor.
- Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Collaborative Mindset: Proven ability to work across teams and drive towards shared goals in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Hands-On Experience: Background in software development, data engineering, or delivering complex software projects is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Flexibility to Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally, as needed to meet business and client demands.
